1. None everything has been clear.
2. Intro to prospective, website showing how to draw table, tv, rug, bed and so on.
3. Painting and design where we used same color scheme as professional artist.
4. Nope
1. Everything has made sense so far. I would say that learning how everything is based on the vanishing point is the most confusing element.
2. I have really enjoyed being able to look at previous students artwork. This gave me a relly good idea of how I wanted mine to look like.
1. We have had to find paintings online from famous artwork. In these assignments, we always analyze the work closely and become familiar with the artists style.
2. No, what we are doing is great.
The piece of the perspective unit that I find the most confusing is the drawings of the bedrooms, and the placing of objects. The placing of furniture that isn’t a box or rectangle (such as a couch) can be really confusing.
The homework that we did on the one point perspective drawing was really helpful because it was a good way to practice drawing objects that we don’t have to make up. Having the picture right in front of me made the drawing a lot easier.
Grouping the artists with their paintings was a good way to learn about each artist, because it gave us the chance to figure out if there was a relation between the paintings done by one artist, and to learn about the different unique things that will help us recognize other paintings done by an artist.
Perspective Unit
1.) There have not been many confusing assignments so far. The only one is the color planning sketchbook. I was confused on how to do the assignment. The only other challenge that have is my technical skills. My artwork is not always the best in quality and may sometimes be sloppy.
2.) The most helpful information is examples on the websites. They give me picture that I can look at to answer my questions. Many questions have been solved for me by looking at these pictures.
Famous Artists
1.) The main activities was that of comparing our artwork to that of other artists. This gives us experiences which we can look back on to remember these artists. This also helps us recognize artists styles and artwork.
2.) It would help to have a document that tells us the different artists and shows us pictures of their artwork. This will give us a good study tool and a reference if we ever have questions about a certain artist.
1.The most challenging assignment so far was the sketchbook assignment using one-point perspective. I don’t have any questions about one-point or two-point perspective so far.
2. The most helpful assignment was the one-point perspective room drawing because the website available explains a lot about specifically how to create certain objects. The sketchbook assignment was also helpful though it was difficult because you could experiment with different techniques that create perspective.
3. The in-class labeling the pictures with the artists, time period, and country was helpful and the value copy-drawing.
4. Doing things in class or for homework about famous artists more often would be helpful because the information would be heard often and therefore more likely to stick.
Perspective Unit
1. The things that have been most confusing is are time spent in class learning about perspective. It would have been better if we had gone through some step by step instructions.
2. The work that we have done has been most helpful. Just being able to experiment with perspective and looking at are classmates work made it easier to realize what a perspective drawing should look like.
Famous Artists
1. The most helpful thing we did was the homework assignment where we had pictures and we had to match them with the artists. That gave me a good idea of what type of work certain artists do.
2. The one thing that could be done to help with our knowledge of artists would be for us to get a worksheet with artists and their styles. That way we could always have a reference point.
Perspective:
1) I think that the most challenging parts of assignments are when we have to copy a drawing, painting, or a photograph. I always overly stress out about getting every last line right, and I never think that it looks okay. I don’t have any questions about perspective drawing, other than for our final drawing, can we choose weather we do a one-point or two-point perspective?
2) What was most helpful for me was the website that shows step-by-step how to create a certain element, like a table or rug.
Famous Artists:
1) Seeing many examples of an artist’s work help me to understand their style better. Once I can identify an artist’s style, I can recognize other works by that artist.
2 )None…..
1.1. Probably the instructions about what to do for homework. I usually know what i need to know, just not necessarily how to do it.
1.2. I almost always know what i should be doing and fully understand one point perspective and mostly get two point perspective.
2.1. names of artist have come up, but I don’t think we really covered those units that much.
2.2. Just examining famous paintings and analyzing strategies the artist used seems like a good idea.
1. None all assignments have been clear.
2. The intro to perspective helped allot to learn all the terms and concepts, also the site that helped you learn how to draw all the given criteria we had to draw.
3. Our reflections on our final drawings comparing them to famous artists drawing styles.
4. Review styles and terms.
1. The most challenging part of the activities was the one-point perspective room, but it was not to much of a challenge to complete. I do not have any questions right now about one or two perspective drawings.
2. To help my understanding in perspective, I liked doing the building examples that are above, on, and below the horizon line. Also, the website that shows the steps on the one-point perspective was very helpful.
3. Many of the sketchbook assignments involved us getting pictures done by famous artists and that helps us become familiar with them. Also, the field trip helped us to recognize and see other artists.
4. I think being asked to use specific artists work might help us become familiar with the artists that we are required to know about.
Perspective Unit
1. One of the most challenging parts of this unit is figuring out which vanishing points all the lines go to in two-point perspective drawings. It’s also challenging to orient all the objects in the picture in the right perspective so they don’t have a warped look.
2. The one-point room drawing has been the most helpful. The website used along with the assignment was especially useful because it taught how to draw in perspective with visuals. It made you click on each line made to create the picture and took you step by step through the whole process.
Famous Artists
1. The assignments that make you copy the work of other artists are very helpful when understanding and recognizing their artwork. It forces you to look closely at all their lines, choice of colors and how they are blended, and what types of things are in their drawings.
2. Looking more closely at how the lines and color of certain artists differ and what kinds of objects individual artists consistently draw.
1.) The sketchbook assignment has been the most challenging so far. This is mostly because it was much harder to find the correct proportions when working off of another piece than to make up proportions and a vanishing point. I don’t have any questions concerning one- or two-point perspective.
2.) The sketchbook assignment has been the most helpful in my understanding of perspective because it trained me to look for applications of this in reality. I was forced to see how the different objects interacted and influenced the proportion of the entire image.
3.) Finding the work of other artists and copying or writing about it has help a lot in understanding and recognizing artists and their artwork. Noticing the specific techniques and compositions used in their work has been especially helpful.
4.) Not really. I think what we’re doing now is working for me.
1and2. I found the websites we used originally to be confusing but once we received feedback in class I was more confident with my work. I also liked the website we used that gave a step by step instruction on how to add each piece.
1. We had to organize the dates, artists, and their techniques which helped me to understand a certain artists strategy.
2. If we studied different artists more often I feel that their strategies would be more apparent and fresh in our minds.
Perspective Unit-
1.) I feel challenged every time we have an assignment that involves drawing perspective. I haven’t had much practice with it yet, and I already know that it isn’t my strong suit. I know that I will have to continue to practice with it, but I’m hoping it will come easier to me from now on. I think every question I’ve had has been answered, and I will continually ask them at the present time I get them, to make sure I understand.
2.) I really liked the step-by-step room drawing guide. That really helped me to begin understanding and working with perspective. From there, the room drawing assignment allowed me further practice and appropriately challenge myself.
Famous Artists-
1.) I feel that we have only touched on famous artists work, but one of the most helpful assignments was the treasure hunt type thing with matching the piece of art with the techniques and the artist.
2.) I think it would be neat to do more learning about the specific techniques and moods that certain famous artists are best at. For instance, I think a unit on pop art would be fun, and you could also get a chance to learn about the famous artists in that field of artwork. It may be fun also to do different forms of art other than painting and drawing. Mixing it up a little would be FUN!
1. What information, instruction, parts of assignments have been the most confusing or challenging for you up to this point? What specific questions do you have concerning one-point or two-point perspective? The homework assignment where we had to show a two point perspective drawing was very confusing to me, to begin with but after you explained it, it became more clear to me. I do not have any specific question a this point about two point perspective drawing.
2. What assignments, instruction and/or information has been the most helpful in your understanding of one-point and two-point perspective? Although I did not understand the two point perspective drawing at first it was a really good learning experience for me, because it helped me learn how to create that type of work.
Famous Artists
1. What strategies, activities and assignments, have you done in class and/or for homework, are helpful in assisting you to know, understand, and/or recognize famous artists and their artwork?
One of the activities that we did for our color paintings involved looking on a website at various famous artist’s work. Also when we got pictures or paintings for the one point perspective sketchbook assignment we got a chance to look at different artists photographs and paintings.
2. Is there anything that we could do differently that might help you in your understanding of and knowing this knowledge? Please be specific. I think that something that we could do differently is to practice a little bit more with the two point perspective drawings.
